Mozilla Firebird 0.6.1 Released
Mozilla Firebird 0.6.1 is now available for download. Information about the release available from Asa Dotzler's weblog:
This [release] fixes the autocomplete crash, a few security bugs and picks up lots of great core Gecko fixes from the Mozilla trunk. Firebird 0.6.1 is currently available for Windows and Linux and we're working on getting Mac builds completed. Enjoy.
My favorite feature of the release? The client's new icon.

_my_ favorite fix (or new feature) is that Midas is enabled in this version whereas it wasn't in 0.6
i'm not that big of a fan of it. in windows 2000, its hard to see any of the details in the small icon. it looks like a big red blop
Off-topic: The About page doesn't even mention the new bloggers here at Blogzilla.
The icon is so small it looks like a tomato on my screen!
Midas is not enabled Bob...
Folks, to reduce confusion: Jonathan is jareha and jareha is Jonathan.
my favorite features are mostly extensions like web-developer and venkman, but in general the gui is slick and i am here to stay. having been a mozilla user since like 0.89 or so, what i like the most about firebird is how fast it is starting and loading pages... :-)
i do have one issue though and maybe it is simple (i remember this in old moz releases too): i am starting firebird with a command like
/usr/local/MozillaFirebird/MozillaFirebird and when i click it a second time or when i open a link in evolution (i set firebird as the def. gnome browser) then i get the "choose your profile" dialog and the message that my default profile is in use when i try and select it. what can i do to get firebird to check the process table and reuse an existing process rather than starting a new one or, better yet, just to use the default profile?
it this a quick fix? did i forget something?
As someone who despises autocomplete, I'm still waiting for them to fix the bug that makes it impossible to turn autocomplete off...
If you are configured still for mozilla in as your defaut browser in gnome2 and you are running Firebird; new pages open in your current Firebird process. I am trying to track this down.
