Mozilla 1.1 Released
For those of you who don't download and install a nightly build, Mozilla 1.1 has been released. This is a very good build, with lots of new features and bug fixes.

Just installed it, and I am not particularly impressed.
It's still got a very sluggish interface. Something that I hoped would be addressed in this version. Looks like I am out of luck.
Otherwise I've been very impressed with Mozilla. The rendering engine is excellent (a relief for web development), the feature set is very useful (killing pop-ups and the like).
But please... skins! Gah! I can't express my disgust well enough. The skins are very annoying. Ugly and resource hogging. I would dearly love a version of Mozilla with a native interface.
Has anybody found a way to disable <MARQUEE> yet? If it isn't possible to disable it, it would be *the* reason to stick with 1.1b ...
heh, try adding
marquee {
-moz-binding: none;
}
to your userContent.css file

I agree! While the Orbit 3+ theme is usable, I really wish there was a native interface version of Mozilla. I've given up hope on K-Meleon - it doesn't have all of the features I want anyway. Including the mail client, which I use.
Maybe not so popular, but , the IE skin is actually the fastest skin I have seen. Weird, cause I thought they all should have the same speed?
I recently found out how to disable <marquee> scrolling properly and made a page about it. Just go to http://mozilla.weebeastie.net/marquee.shtml
and follow the instructions there.
I can't get moz mouse gestures to work with version 1.1.
I tried to install it and mozilla says that it's a bad package. :(
I'm going back to 1.0. at least mouse gestures work with that
I'm using 1.1 on Win2K, and it rocks so much harder than 1.0, performance-wise.
Hey, Mr. Eel! What OS are you using? I hear the Mac version is a mess, but I haven't tried it myself. I wish people would mention what OS they're using when they find bugs (or have general complaints), so I can make note of it at the WaSP site.
I had not been following the nightly builds, so I was caught by surprise by the new behavior of bookmark groups.
1.0: opening a bookmark group wiped out all the previous tabs before creating the news ones (GOOD)
1.1: opening a bookmark group retains the old tabs and merely adds the new ones to the tab bar (BAD!)
Does anyone know of a preference setting or other way to revert bookmark groups to the former more usable behavior?
"Mozilla allows you to view HTML mail messages as plain text" <-- that looks really great, only I'm incapable of finding where the setting is! Can anybody drop me a hint?
It's at View -> Message Body As -> Plain Text in MailNews.
