Notorious Lightning, originally uploaded by Pinder.
Zulu Records has on display the original artwork for Destroyer's Notorious Lightning and Other Works by Carey Mercer of Frog Eyes.
Its on sale for $250. It's pretty ugly, but I still kinda want it.

The 10 Worst Album Covers of 2005
10. System of a Down - Hypnotize / Mezmerize
Both these covers were higher on the list, till I found out the guitarist's son did them, so I went easy on the kid. He gets bonus points for not using that shitty font every other metal band uses.
9. 50 Cent - The Massacre
Maybe for the next album he'll be Carnage.
8. Coco Rosie - Noah's Ark
A unicorn fucking a horse fucking a puking zebra. Lay off the ex at those Kill Whitey parties girls.
7. Decemberists - Picaresque
Colin, whatever you paid Carson Ellis for the previous covers, it was well worth it.
6. Bon Jovi - Have a Nice Day
Is Forrest Gump working at Universal now?
5. Mercury Rev - The Secret Migration
How this cover got past the artists own shame, the band, and the label is beyond me. It only takes one person to go "Wait, this sucks".
4. The New Pornographers - Twin Cinema
The colours, the font, the drop shadow, the unnecessary bolding, take your pick. The colours are even worse in person. Only thing redeeming about it is the photo of the camera. If it was just the camera on a white background with the titles in Helvetica Nueue it woulda been a fine cover.
3. Mu - Out of Breach
Lets get sick (edit). The album sucked too.
2. Ladybug Mecca - Trip the Light Fantastic
Here's an idea, dress up Ladybug Mecca in skintight PVC. And then stop right there!! Take a picture and put it on the cover. Thats it, you're done. If someone says "lets put her in ladybug wings sitting on top of a warpspeed leaf in Brooklyn with kids looking on" you give that person a cock-punch.
1. Out Hud - Let Us Never Speak of it Again
I think I audibly gasped the first time I saw this. Even at the store, I was embarrassed taking this up to the cash register. Oh why couldn't you have gone with the leaves?

Herman Düne - Not on Top
"I thought I'd never say that I bought Nevermind and it changed my life some 15 years ago"
Hey, it's my birthday today.
