Two "fuck you" songs from two two-member bands that use only drums and bass guitar, that are not Death From Above 1979:

Whitey Houston - I Got Fucked By Liberty Mutual

These guys are from Edmonton, one's name is Whitey, others is Gravy. I've always wanted a friend named Whitey. Great intensity here on a fuck you to an insurance company. File somewhere between Death From Above 1979 and The Black Keys.

Lightning Bolt - Captain Caveman

Holy fuck, the loudness. If I knew how to play drums, this is how I'd play.

My take on that leaked Kevin Federline song? Seriously, it's better than Black Eyed Peas - My Humps, which is the most unfortunate reference to cancer since that Our Lady Peace song.

New Madonna song: actually pretty good!
Old Madonna face: looks like prison bread!

Overlooked artist of the day: Federico Aubele. Gran Hotel Buenos Aires, a fine album. Thank you to the girl that put Despertar on a mix for me.

There were days when no kid came out of his house without looking around. The week after Halloween had a quality both hung-over and ominous, the light pitched, the sky smashed against the rooftops.

No Vember.

One of the best reviews I've read in a while, the 75 or Less review of Sigur Ros - Takk

The brilliant William Schaff has posted some of his artwork on Flickr for the forthcoming Okkervil River - Black Sheep Boy Appendix release. There's a lot more on his Flickr page, if you're into art with skulls and animals and shading and vomiting dead bodies.

If Jarvis Cocker teamed with Bruce Cockburn, they could call themselves Cockburner.

Random Chuck Norris Fact: Chuck Norris frequently signs up for beginner karate classes, just so he can "accidentally" beat the shit out of little kids.

The vinyl version of Thunderbirds are Now! - Justamustache comes with a fake mustache. I wore mine all afternoon one day.

This is probably of no interest to anyone other those who find this via Google, but the dvd surround sound side of Dualdisc version of Franz Ferdinand - You Could Have It So Much Better does not work in the Acura TL. In fact, all Sony Dualdiscs will not work in the Acura TL because they are not DVD-Audio. Sony makes SACD, which competes with DVD-A, so for Dualdiscs Sony chose to put only DVD-Video. So even though it says Dualdisc, and the back says "DVD side includes enhanced surround sound", it's not DVD-A, it's a surround sound version of the album in a video format that plays on the computer, which is bullshit. I know most Dualdiscs are meant to be played on the computer or dvd player and not in DVD-A players, but still, way to fuck over the branding of Dualdisc by making some that work and some that don't. Those that buy CDs and are geeky enough to have DVD-A capability in their cars are usually the people that tell other people "buy this". Lesson learned, Dualdisc doesn't necessarily mean DVD-A, which I thought it did since all previous Dualdiscs I bought (NIN) are DVD-A and work in the TL.

Super Mario Mini-mix for you:

Beastie Boys - Oh Word? (Lando's Dad 'Live In Pipeworld' Remix)
cry.on.my.console - Superlangalang!
Add N to (X) - Robot New York

Last one you have to find on your own.

Speaking of cry.on.my.console, check out his tracks and others on the super glitchy enRAGEd - rage against the machine remix album. Not for everyone, but if you're like me, you like RATM, glitch, cry.on.my.console bootlegs, and Pulp references, then it's for you.

And if you're like me, tell me, what should I do?
